If you haven’t received a deployment yet, don’t worry – it’s not too late! Right now, we’re seeing field adjusters being deployed to inspect properties. Desk adjusters will soon have claims to handle as a result. There’s damage reported across multiple states, and the estimates I’ve seen show over 30,000 NFIP claims already.

If you hold an NFIP certification, now is the time to reach out to the firms where you obtained your certification. They’re going to need a lot of adjusters in several areas across the Southeast over the coming days and weeks.

A quick reminder: if you’re accepting a deployment for the first time and you’re not interested in doing field work, don’t feel pressured to accept a field deployment. First off, you’re taking a spot that could go to someone better suited for it, and second, you may not have the training, equipment, or experience necessary for the job. It’s okay to wait for desk or remote deployments – those are coming soon.

Many areas are still recovering from power outages and evacuations, so until people can return and file claims, more opportunities will become available.
